Family Camp 2016

Another fantastic family camp was held at Lyons Copse campsite from 8th to 10th July, with a wide range of activities including climbing, rafting and backwoods cooking. The super heroes themed campfire was great despite the noisy neighbours and the water fight involved everyone getting absolutely soaked.

New Programme 2015

The Scout Association has launched a new programme for all the sections in scouting after consultation with leaders and young members.

The key themes that are embedded in the programme are:

  • Outdoor and Adventure should form 50% of the programme
  • Programmes will be shaped by young people in partnership with adults
  • There will be a focus on teamwork and leadership skills
  • Individual personal development and individual challenges will be promoted
  • Community focus will be a core theme

And importantly:

  • Progression through the sections remains a key aspect
  • All young people to strive and have the opportunity to achieve the top award for the section

Whilst the new programme is available from 30th January, there is a transition period until 30th September to enable people to complete badges they have already started and give us leaders time to adjust our programme planning.

Cubs achieve 2nd place in Cannonball Trophy Swimming Gala 2014

The Cubs put in a fantastic team performance in this year’s Cannonball Trophy swimming gala with lots of certificates for Hambledon, winning the relay and getting both 2nd and 1st place in one of the finals. Overall Hambledon came second place, with Clanfield winning the trophy this year. A big thanks to all the parents who stayed to support the cubs, the cheering for Hambledon was certainly the loudest in the pool.
