Hambledon Village Beaver colony was in for a real treat when Graham Cornick from Hydestile Resident Animals can to visit with a few of his old friends. Hydestile Resident Animals is run by Graham and Lyn Cornick plus staff and volunteers.
Graham and Lyn had decided to semi retire but things don’t always go quite to plan and Hydestile still remains a busy place caring for the permanent residents who have accumulated over the years as well as new patients taken in an emergency if no one else can help.
Graham has been giving talks to children in schools as well as groups such as Beavers for over 20 years and gave an entertaining and informative talk about the animals he brought to show the colony, how they came to their hospital and how to protect these animals in the wild. Amongst the visitors were several owls, including a blind tawny owl, three rats, a three legged hedgehog and a pole cat which nearly made a run up Eagle’s trouser leg, much to the Beavers amusement.
The Beavers showed their support for Graham and the great work he does by providing donations of food and towels for the animals.
